Best Time to Visit Tirthan Valley — Month by Month Guide
Tirthan Valley is a four-season destination — but each season offers a dramatically different experience in weather, accessibility, and what is open.
March to May — Spring (Best Season)
Temperatures: 10–22°C. Rhododendrons in bloom. Clear skies. GHNP trekking and fishing both open. Valley at its most photogenic. Crowds are manageable. Highly recommended.
June — Early Summer
Temperatures: 18–28°C. Warm and pleasant. Pre-monsoon showers begin late month. Good time to visit before rains arrive. Valley is lush and green.
July to August — Monsoon
Heavy rainfall, landslide risk on mountain roads. Most properties including Tiraya close for the season. Not recommended.
September to November — Autumn (Peak Season)
Post-monsoon clarity. September is brilliant green. October and November bring crisp air, excellent visibility, autumn colours, and the clearest skies for stargazing. Book well in advance — this is peak season.
December to February — Winter
Cold (0–12°C). Higher altitudes under snow. Limited tourism. Some properties operate for those who want a snow experience. Carry serious warm clothing.
Tiraya's Season
Open 1st May to approximately 10th July, and 1st September to 31st December. We are closed during monsoon for guest safety.
