Best Time to Visit Tirthan Valley — Month by Month Guide

Updated September 2026  ·  5 min read  ·  By Tiraya Team

Tirthan Valley is a four-season destination, but each season changes the weather, the access and what you can do.

March to May: Spring (best season)

Mild days, clear skies, rhododendrons and orchards in bloom. Trekking and fishing both good. Highly recommended.

June: Early Summer

Warm and green, with pre-monsoon showers starting late in the month. A good time to come before the rains.

July to August: Monsoon

Heavy rain, landslides and cloudbursts are a real risk on Himachal's roads, as the 2025 monsoon showed. The valley is at its greenest and quietest; travel only after checking road conditions with us.

September to November: Autumn (peak season)

Early September can still see late-monsoon rain and road repairs; from late September the air clears. October and November bring crisp days, the clearest night skies and the best wildlife season in GHNP. Book ahead.

December to February: Winter

Cold, quiet, with snow higher up. Jalori Pass usually closes from December to about mid-March, so arrive via Aut. Bring serious warm clothing.

Tiraya's Season

Tiraya is open all year. In winter, when Jalori Pass is closed, we are reached via Mandi and Aut. During the monsoon, WhatsApp us before you travel for current road conditions.
