Tirthan Valley Weather — A Practical Guide All Year Round

The valley floor near Gushaini sits at about 1,600 metres: high enough to feel cool, low enough to visit most of the year. Temperatures below are typical ranges, not guarantees.

March–May (Spring)

Days roughly 15–22°C, nights 8–12°C. Mild and clear. Light woollens for evenings. Great for walks and treks.

June (Pre-monsoon)

Warmer days, occasional afternoon showers. A good window before the rains.

July–August (Monsoon)

Heavy rain and landslide risk on mountain roads. The valley is lush and quiet, but check road conditions with us before you travel.

September–October (Post-monsoon)

Green valley, clear blue skies, comfortable days. From late September onwards, roads usually settle.

November (Early Winter)

Crisp, clear days and cold nights around freezing. Excellent night skies. Pack warm layers.

December–February (Winter)

Cold days and nights at or below freezing. Snow is common higher up and occasional in the valley. Jalori Pass usually closes from December to about mid-March.

Always Carry

A light rain jacket, warm layers, good walking shoes, sunscreen and some cash, as ATMs in the valley are limited.
