Tirthan Valley Weather — A Practical Guide All Year Round

April 2026  ·  4 min read  ·  By Tiraya Team

Tirthan Valley sits at approximately 1,500 metres near Gushaini — high enough to be dramatically different from the plains, but accessible for most of the year.

March–May (Spring)

Day: 15–22°C | Night: 8–12°C. Mild, clear, rhododendrons in bloom. Light woolens needed for evenings. Perfect for outdoor activities. Best season.

June (Pre-Monsoon)

Day: 22–28°C | Night: 15–18°C. Warm, occasional afternoon showers. Good to visit before rains become heavy.

July–August (Monsoon)

Heavy rainfall. Mountain roads prone to landslides. Tiraya is closed for safety during this period.

September–October (Post-Monsoon)

Day: 15–22°C | Night: 8–12°C. Valley washed clean and brilliantly green. Deep blue skies. Arguably the most beautiful time. Nights comfortable with a light jacket.

November (Early Winter)

Day: 10–16°C | Night: 2–6°C. Crisp, clear days. Spectacular stargazing. Carry warm layers.

December–February (Winter)

Day: 5–12°C | Night: -2 to 4°C. Cold. Snow possible in the valley, certain at higher altitudes.

Always Carry

Light rain jacket, warm layers, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen (UV is higher at altitude), and cash (ATMs are limited in the valley).
